I also was able to kick it with him while in the studio when recording the remix so I'll show yall a piece of how it went down :) Music is sounding real good right about now.

Rhianna and Maroon 5 Team Up For New Single

Both on tour, both on the verge of re-releasing their platinum albums, Maroon 5 and Rhianna have teamed up to remix, Maroon 5's track, "If I Never See Your Face Again." The single will be featured on each of their albums and will be given full single treatment, including video, press, etc. Check it out here, I was a fan of the song before, now I think I like it even better.

G Unit's New Single Off Of New Album50 Cent and his comrades are back again for the second go around at a group album. The majority of the album was created before Buck was "kicked" out of the group so no word on what will happen with his content. I'm not sure if G Unit have the brand name like they once had, however, the track, at least the beat on the track is solid. If only 50 didn't talk so much mess this song might actually blow up. They just released it to all outlets and have even ask man of the hour, Lil Wayne, to hop on the remix. MF 3.0 has it all here for ya to check out.

Gnarls Barkley Got It Going OnThe Odd Couple. Gnarls Barkley couldn't have picked a better name for their second album. This funky duo, composed off Cee-Lo Green former frontman for the Dungeon Family's Goodie Mob, of ATL and Outkast fame, and Danger Mouse creator of The Beatles/Jay-Z mash up, The Grey Album, has released their second single and video called Goin On. The song and video, as usual, is funky and highly entertaining. The two genre-bending artists don't even feature in the video but after watching it you won't even mind. Go DJ! Nah, that's not MY DJ.After being late for an appearance in Richmond, VA, Friday (Jan. 25) due to his legal woes, Lil Wayne once arriving on stage made his frustrations clear by ripping into members of his entourage. Weezy, documented on video, goes on to rant and rave about how some members of his "entourage" weren't there for him, and how he don't need them 'cause he got the crowd. He then prompts the whole audience to follow him in giving his crew a big "F**k You." The video just adds to the recent madness, entertaining, but madness that is Lil Wayne and is highlighted with Wayne throwing his jacket directly at the head of his DJ. See for yourself here.

I've been waitin' for an announcement for a tour for a minute now, but although no announcement still hasn't been made, there is a flyer going around that may be part of the promo for Ye's new tour. The poster bills Kanye as the headliner with Rihanna, N.E.R.D., and Lupe Fiasco has supporting acts...when and if this happens, you can definitely count me in. I don't buy cds, but I buy show tickets :)

The man who's been relatively quiet for a man of his stature is trying to make some noise with this track U Ain't Crazy and I don't think this is the one to do it. 50 is doing what 50 on this track and I think it would have been a good joint a few years back but now it's kinda like...man I'm waitin' for you to rap about something else. Nate Dogg Suffers Stroke




















According to an official report from memebers inside of Nate Dogg's camp, the singer suffered a mild stroke last month in his home. He was treated at Panoma Valley Hospital from December 19th to the 26th. The singer was left paralyzed on the left side of his body. He is now recovering at an undisclosed rehab facility. The good news is that Nate Dogg has not suffered any brain damage, and his singing voice is unaffected. Let's all send out our prayers to a true legend in the game.

Apparently, 50 Cent could be cleaning house over at G-Unit. While this is just a rumor, it isn't too far fetched considering the dismal numbers both acts have to show on their last studio efforts. I can understand the Imfamous Mobb since I really can't remember anything they have done since Shook Ones and that came out in '95. Oh and the Quiet Storm. Ok maybe that's a bit harsh, but on the other side of this, I thought that 50 and Banks were really good friends. I didn't see this coming. Sometimes it's just business.

Timbaland, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent Named In Steroid Investigation
















Similar to the Mitchell Report that's plaguing athletes in the MLB, a recent report has been released linking Timbaland, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige and others to steroid usage. Apparently, entertainers and such are enticed by the steroids because of it's promised anti aging effects. Now I'm not going to touch too much on this because I know you're going to hear it everywhere else but to me I don't see it being a problem, they ain't cheating at what they do right? And really steroids ain't gonna help you produce, rap or sing better, 'cause it sure didn't help 50 on his last album.

Raheem Devaughn and Kanye West link up?

My boy Raheem Devaughn, whose album drops today, is still blazing waves with his track Woman. There's a plethora of remixes out there with a lot of rappers jumping on the track but here at Music Forecast 3.0 we got something better. Raheem sort of links up with Kanye and is featured on the Flashing Lights remix. Yes, I know another Flashing Lights remix but this joint is hot. See for yourself here. Also, check out Hot Boy.

The Cool Kids Making NoiseYou may or may not have heard of these boys before, but The Cool Kids I believe are yet another breath of fresh air in Hip Hop. These two cats linked up through myspace two years ago and set out to produce throw back beats that other rappers can get on. After liking there beats too much the two began to rap on their own beats and thus The Cool Kids were born. The style is like an ode to rap in the late 80s, early 90s and the beats are heavy on the 808 and I challenge you to try and keep from nodding your head. Now although I think the lyricism ain't nothing special, they really don't be talking about nutin', their swagger is so much you just can't complain. The Cool Kids started to create a buzz last year and it's getting louder and louder with an album set to drop this year and a Rhapsody commerical spot with indie artist Sarah Barielles. Peep these tracks here from this duo and let us know what you think.

Shawty Lo Is The Man?Shawty Lo is continuing to amaze me. This cat goes from snapping and clapping with D4L, a group that now is pretty laughable, to making tracks with a lot of A-listers in Hip Hop. His tracks I'm Da Man, was hot, remix had like 4 cats on there, then he comes with They Know which is killin' the waves right now. And the remix? He got Ludacris, who killed it, Jeezy, who also came with it, Plies and Lil Wayne on the joint. I don't know about no album but at least we know there is life after snap music...although I did hear Dem Franchise Boys comin' out with another album. Anyway, peep Shawty Lo's video here.

Honestly, I know I posted this a minute ago, but Birdman says he's NOT Married... The reason I believe it... Brittany Williams, the "wife" is 18! Unless Birdman is a certified pedophile with his 30-something year old self. I don't think that it was his wife. I know y'all seen some interesting pics of that girl, but I don't think Birdman would actually have his wife work (the poll... and I don't mean elections) in those kinds of clubs... He say's he's got 100 Million Dollars, right? Anywayz, I'm done with that story, lol.

Alright folks... This is the news so far...

Statement from Jive Records:

"It is with great sadness that Jive Records announces the passing of Chad "Pimp C" Butler, a member of the celebrated rap duo UGK (Underground Kingz). Jive Records' President and CEO Barry Weiss states: "We mourn the unexpected loss of Chad. He was truly a thoughtful and kind-hearted person. He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing southern rap to the forefront. He will be missed and our prayers remain with his family and Bun B. I've known Chad since he was 18, and we loved him dearly and he was a cherished member of the Jive family."

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Butler's father was a trumpet player who played professionally with Solomon Burke. Outside of his father, the 33-year old rapper's influences varied, ranging from Bobby Bland, Jimmy McGriff, the 1960's Motown artists to Run DMC. Butler met his inseparable partner Bernard "Bun B" Freeman in high school where they formed UGK. In 1992, the duo signed to Jive Records and went on release a total of eight albums for the label. They earned their highest achievement earlier this year when their most recent album, UGK (Underground Kingz), debuted in the number one position on the album pop chart. According to the New York Times, UGK "helped inspire a generation of Southern hip-hop stars, from OutKast to Lil Wayne."

Bun B is not available for comment at this time."
