Here's whats bubbling in the lovely world of Hip Hop.
Clipse - MULTI-MILLION deal with Columbia
One of the realest rap duos just signed a new deal with Rick Rubin's Sony Music/Columbia. With their new contract Clipse bring their Re-Up Gang outfit to Sony Music and will enjoy 50/50 profit sharing with Columbia and will retain ownership of their masters at deal's end. This deal is mad nice especially when you look at Clipse's last album (Hell Hath No Fury) flopped, even though it was one of the hottest CD that came out last year. This deal also give the Clipse a change to consistently put out music on time, no more 4 year waits. Look out for Re-Up Gang's album in early '08 followed w/ Clipse's third album.
After Def Jam Chairman L.A. Reid intially brushed off reports off Nas's next studio album being called N** *A, he has now been quoted as saying that "Nas is a great artist, and we support everything that he wants to do as an artist," so now Nas's new album which is now titled "N****r" will get the full-backing by Def Jam. WTF? As hard as Nas goes, this is not what we need in Hip Hop right now. We got elections comin' up in '08 w/ Obama havin' a change, Oprah and O'Reilly just waitin' to knock down Hip Hop, and I can just see half of America, the half that doesn't understand or like Hip-Hop taking the joint out of context. But hey, we'll see.

Jadakiss - moments away from signing with THE ROC!
Rumor has it, that this next bit right here ain't rumor. Jadakiss is this .. close to being the newest additon to Roc-A-Fella. Apparently Jay-Z has been trying to sign Jada for a minute and been in talks w/ Dee and Waah of Ruff Ryders way back when to collab w/ the D-Block artist, now that they in jail (Dee and Waah) and Jada ain't got no kinda buzz Jay-Z tryna grab him to beef up their squad. And if you ask me, it's much needed, and like Dame Dash said, you can't live off Kanye forever.

Lupe Fiasco - Coming to University of North Texas!
Lupe Fiasco, the Hip Hop "nerd" is coming to my school this week. HA! He will be gracing the halls of the University of North Texas in Denton and let me tell ya I am real surprised. UNT really ain't the type of school to have stuff like this so I'm wondering how they pulled it off. Apparently he comin' out to promote his new album, The Cool, and won't be performing, lame, but I'm thinking is that really how to promote for an album? A university tour w/out performng? Either way I ain't complaining, I'm finna get my copy of Food & Liqour signed and make him spit Dumb It Down w/ me. HA.

R&N - 10/24/07 - Hot Videos + EXCLUSIVES!
A lot of hot videos have been poppin' lately, so I wanted to share it with y'all. First joint I wanted to put up was Common's "I Want You" joint. Luv this track on the album, but the video real nice. Common seem to get good treatment when it come to videos such was the case on this one w/ cameos from Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Selena Williams?? and others. Let us know what u think.
Ja Rule got a new joint to go w/ his street single, Uh Ohhh. Idk 'bout the song but the video, DAMN. Almost too many fine women in there, and Hype directed the joint so look like Ja still got sum clout. Also, peep out the "new" Ashanti on the track.
Finally, the man who don't and probably won't go to jail, R. Kelly has got sum videos floatin' around. First he got that video to his Rockstar joint w/ Ludacris and Kid Rock...yeah I know, that's slowly creepin' on the radio. Then he actually made a video to "Real Talk." One of my favorite joints off of Double Up, Kels didn't dissapoint, the video funny just like the song, but idk if it's suppose to be. What yall think? By the way, both videos are kinda low quality...hmm maybe Kels is running out of money.

Greg Street went n stole the joint n put w/ Jay Z old verse n a Ice Cube new 16.

Weezy finally spits on the track that he should have to begin with. Birdman follows him to studio again n f**ks up again, u can't help but wish that Baby could have been swapped w/ Luda, the killer of hot tracks right now. Yeah I said it. (See, I Get Money, and Freaky Girl remix)
Luv the original, the remix, is hot, but w/ Kels on it, it should have been better...u'll see what I mean.
Weird choice to have on the remix, but then I remembered Cassidy was on J Records thru Full Surface, so hence the link to my wifey there. Cass go hard, n the slight beat change is hot.
Yall know Flashing Lights is one of the best beats on Graduation, these cats gracing the track makes it even better.

Nas - N***** Album?!
Nas is supposedly planning to put out "N*****" (not even the hood term) as his next album... The new album will be coming out either December 11th or sometime in '08. Some of the producers on the album will be J.D., Diddy, and Salaam Remi. I wonder how they're gonna promote this album on MTV...
Speaking of which, this is what he told them:
"We're taking power from the word," he added. "No disrespect to none of them who were part of the civil-rights movement, but some of my n---as in the streets don't know who [civil-rights activist] Medgar Evers was. I love Medgar Evers, but some of the n---as in the streets don't know Medgar Evers, they know who Nas is. And to my older people who don't now who Nas is and who don't know what a street disciple is, stay outta this mutha----in' conversation. We'll talk to you when we're ready. Right now, we're on a whole new movement. We're taking power from that word."

If you haven't seen MTV last night, Shar Jackson beat Kendra out for the rap superstar title. Congratulations to her. I hope to hear an album out of her soon. :-p

So I don't know if TI will be promoting his new movie with Denzel, "American Gangster" while in jail... BUT, he might be screwed out of a COUPLE movies... He is supposed to be working with Danny Glover on a new movie I wrote about a month or so ago called "Once Was Lost."
He was also about to get a script for yet another starring role as a car-salesman for the comedy "For Sale," which was to begin production in early 2008. He was even having screen tests for the upcoming movie (that I'm REAL excited about), "Justice League" as Green Lantern. I also heard that Christina Milian is auditioning as Wonder Woman.
He even missed out on being in the video for the new song, 5000 Ones, which I'll post up soon... I know Chevrolet has his sponsorship deal "under review." Only time will tell... I hope they let T.I. speak about his situation soon...

The new form of music albums just might be flash drives... That's what the record companies are gonna be doing soon.
Universal, EMI, and Warner all plan to sell music preloaded on flash drives. They say that it's going to be aimed at 12 to 24 year olds. Would you buy it? I guess we'll see when they come out...

People are saying that T.I. might get house arrest if he pleads guilty. People are so anxious for Tip to get out of jail that they are just pulling what they want out of other reports. I heard a different variation saying that he might get house arrest until his trial. We'll see...

Just to let you know.. TI had his hearing to be notified of what he was charged with... Unfortunately, he was denied bond... So he's gonna be in jail until his trial begins, which may not be until next month...
Anyone feels he was set up?!

But one thing I missed mentioning was that
Big Moe - Passed Away
The man, Big Moe of Houston Texas, member of the SUC (Screwed Up Click) passed away yesterday... He is most noted on his song "Purple Stuff", that was a hit song in Texas.
Also... have you guys seen that one hip-hop video called "Watch My Feet"?
Anyway, after seeing that, then that new Verizon commercial "Watch Me Move".... you think Verizon should pay dem dudes? Or Dude N Nem? Seriously, though...

Here is supposedly what TI's camp claims happened...
"The bodyguard asked TI for an advance on his [pay] and TI gave it to him .... Whatever he spent money on - whether it be guns, drugs, or formula for his children - TI had nothing to do with it." The insider continued, "The government was just looking to pin a case on TI - they've been trying for years. So they pushed [the bodyguard] into snitching on TI."
And the insider claims that the cache of weapons found in TI's home was not his either. The insider explains, "TI has security that live with him and stay with him at all times. The guns that the [federal agents] found belonged to his security team ... And by the way, [the members of his] security team are licensed to carry firearms."

Wow... News definitely developed over the course of the night...
So lemme try break it down for y'all...
T.I. was arrested by the ATF (Bereau of Alcohol, Tobbaco, Firearms & Explosives) for allegedly attempting to purchase 3 machine guns and 2 silencers from an undercover agent, acting as an arms dealer.
The guns were reportedly found in his home. Police also found 6 more firearms in his closet! He has been charged with felony possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
T.I. supposedly paid almost $21,000 in cash to his bodyguard to buy more than 25 firearms .
The bodyguard made a number of phone calls to T.I., and apparently, they were recorded by the ATF. The bodyguard said "he had everything," and T.I. told him to deliver them to him yesterday. T.I. will be in federal custody until Monday, October 15. Then, he will appear before US Judge at the US Courthouse in Atlanta.

TI - Arrested in ATL!
T.I. was in "Body Tap" last night, a strip club in ATL, and a fight broke out between his crew and some other crew. He was taken into custody, PLUS his house was raided. Because of this, you won't be seeing him in the BET Hip-Hop Awards tonight. Homie was lined up for 9 awards tonight. He's gonna win at least 3 of them. More news as it develops...
Ironically, I just turned it on BET and see TI & Nelly on Hip-Hop vs. America... "West Side Detroit, yo! I'm a PIMP." :-p
The BET Hip-Hop Awards will be aired Thursday, October 17th.
Another UPDATE: I hope I'm wrong, but it is rumored they arrested him because his bodyguard tried to buy him "machine guns". That doesn't sound right, at all! But that's what is rumored to be the reason they raided his house...

I want to apologize for the multiple msgs that people got from the group on Facebook. You know, Facebook been messing up. They actually posted up a "Sorry for the inconvenience" msg on their "Help" page.

Somebody asked why I didn't post up Bobby Brown and his trip to the hospital earlier... I asked them... "Is he relevant?"... What was his last hit? (besides on Whitney?, lol). I'm just playing... But seriously, i don't think y'all really wanted to hear about him... did ya? The dude couldn't even keep his story straight... Did he have a heart attack? Did he not? What's good?
